Historical Enquiries Form

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum offers a research service and currently answers over 3500 enquiries each year relating to British submarine history held in our collections.

We process enquiries in two categories and due to high demand from 1st April 2013 we will make the following charges:

Concessions will be available to Friends of the Submarine Museum.

 

£25 per person Museum/Archive Visit

Please request an appointment by completing the historical enquiries form below. On arrival at the Museum please purchase your Museum/Archive ticket at reception before proceeding into the archive.
Commercial Publishing, press articles including film, radio and television From £50 per hour. Please complete the online historical enquiries form below. Once your enquiry has been assessed, the charge will be advised before going further.

Terms and conditions for making a research enquiry

  1. All research enquiries will be responded to within 28 days by a member of the Royal Navy Submarine Museum's (RNSM) curatorial team.
  2. If a research enquiry is more complicated than first anticipated, the RNSM reserves the right to renegotiate any fee.
  3. A research visit to the Museum and Archive includes a half day visit to the archives (photographic and/or document) and library complete with a consultation with a member of the curatorial team.
  4. A visit to the archive is by appointment (please include preferred visit date on the enquiry form) made at least 2 weeks in advance.
