Especially for under 5s. Visit our brand new indoor family play and explore centre, Busy Boats Bay
Families can have splashing fun with water, dress up as pirates or take command of a play submarine and pirate ship. Busy Boats Bay is a new family centre funded by the BIFFA Award and Heritage Lottery Fun as part of the Saving HMS Alliance community project to bring new audiences to the Submarine Museum.
Busy Boats Bay includes a water play area, a role play area with a crawl through submarine and climb onboard pirate ship, dressing up, toys and games area and a soft sensory play harbour for very young children.
Gareth Brettell, Learning Manager at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum said, “The objectives of Busy Boats Bay are focused on allowing young children to experience learning through playing in a ‘hands-on’ way. It willbe an environment that is fun, safe and links to content that is specific to the Submarine Museum”
Busy Boats Bay is free with a valid museum ticket. Family tickets and 2-year memberships are also available. The play centre will be open during all school holidays, weekends (June to September) and for special events. The facility will also be available for private hire and birthday parties.
June - Sept every weekend and everyday during school holidays
